Reply. Double uni-knot? I learned to tie this as a young fella and it’s still as relevant today. The knot can be used for tying braid to braid, mono to mono line, and a braid to a fluoro. As the use of braided line becomes more and more popular, the importance of knots used to connect braid to a length of mono or fluorocarbon leader takes on greater significance. Blood knot? The Blood Knot is a favorite knot for fly fisherman, is primarily used to join two lines of similar size, and is one of the best fishing knots for this purpose.

It will be sufficiently strong in 90% of fishing scenarios. It’s also one of the most reliable knots you can use to join any 2 lines together. Because it’s easy to tie, has tags that don’t stick out and catch on guides, and strong enough to hold a metre plus barramundi.
