Well, the first impressions aren't too promising. And Glass Beach Kauai is popular enough that you've likely already seen photos of it - in a heavily doctored form. Sea Glass Beach Kauai, Hawaii. Glass Beach comes with an unusual story: Well over a hundred years ago it was decided, for whatever reason that the small area of shoreline that is now known as Glass Beach was designated as a dumping site for much of Kauai's discarded items. The campgrounds here at Glass Beach are quite great. The water is also open to the powerful Pacific Ocean. You're best to visit the beach in order to look at the strange beach glass. Cars were dumped here, large metal items of all kinds, bottles, windshields and all sorts of junk.
