Mortal Engines Hester Shaw Featurette.
A new Mortal Engines featurette and poster puts the focus on Hera Hilmar's Hester Shaw character.
Pandora Shaw (née Rae), was an archaeologist and the mother of Hester Shaw.. History. That's another element I don't like about the movie really, Hester is made into a real big likeable character, when at this stage in the series she shouldn't be. She does develop a soft spot for Tom, but that doesn't really seem to affect the rest of who she is.
She and Valentine were briefly lovers before she married David Shaw, with the former relationship resulting in Hester. $5.47. $10.44. The second movie featurette for Mortal Engines (2018) debuted from Universal Pictures.
Hester Shaw is from Mortal Engines. Book description of Hester Shaw: “She was no older than Tom, and she was hideous.A terrible scar ran down her face from forehead to jaw, making it look like a portrait that had been furiously crossed out.Her mouth was wrenched sideways in a permanent sneer, her nose was a smashed stump and her single eye stared at him out of the wreckage, as grey and chill as winter sea.” This is disappointing, the female main character, Hester Shaw suffered a sword blow to the face, which wrecks her eye, and leaves a scar from ‘forehead to jaw’ and her nose a ‘smashed stump’.
In the alternate Mortal Engines universe of Hellcat Squadran, she is an aviatrix and assassin on the post-apocalyptic Earth. Meet Hester Shaw in New Mortal Engines Sneak Peek. Funko Pop Movies: Mortal Engines - Thaddeus Valentine Collectible Figure, Multicolor 5.0 out of 5 stars 6.

The Mortal Engines movie changed Hester's appearance, ... the demeaning rationale behind Hester Shaw's downplayed scar in the upcoming Mortal Engines film from Peter Jackson and Christian Rivers.
Mortal Engines director Christian Rivers explains why the movie’s lead doesn’t look like her novel counterpart - namely, she was too ugly for the big screen. I would be more surprised if Hester wasn't abnormal, given her background.
