Bays at Mayfield on Sept. 22, 2001. Anglers are reminded that all tiger muskies less than 50 inches must be released. Aside from it's size, the fish is spectacular because of its rarity. There is also good fishing for yellow perch and black crappie. They will chase a 3 lb bass right up to your boat while reeling in. Fished from shore at Lake Tapps Park in the one bay that is open for fishing.
Muskie in this lake and any other lake that I know of are sterile, meaning without the ability to spawn, they do nothing but eat. The lake offers very good opportunities for largemouth and smallmouth bass as well as tiger muskies. Bigger baits are definitely better for visibility but they will take bass lures as well.
