The Border Patrol staffs various locations across the United States based on mission need. Is there a difference from location to location as to the experience you will get or the level of training? Nogales is great work, but a little far from Tucson if you like the big city life. There is no better way to serve your country and make a good living at the same time then to be a part of the United States Border Patrol. CBP Officers staff over 300 land, air and sea ports of entry throughout the United States, in addition to several pre-clearance duty stations overseas. Casa Grande is great work, nice place but kind of remote. Agents may have the opportunity to change duty locations after some period of time. Being a Border Patrol Agent was fulfilling in a variety of ways. There was always something new to learn and many opportunities to do different duties, such as; Instructor, K-9 handler, Special Operations operator, Peer Support, Chaplaincy, Horse Patrol, ATV, Snow mobiles, and many more. There are stations that do almost exclusively checkpoint operations, such as Sierra Blanca, TX., San Clemente, CA., and Temecula, CA. Cost of living has to be dramatically different from areas of Texas as compared to the San Diego area I would assume?
