Hi Steve: Whenever a dog that was previously tolerant suddenly begins growling, it's time for a trip to the vet to rule out any possible physical cause. The purpose of a pit bull was to combine the agility and speed of a terrier with the strength of a bulldog. Now when we first got him he had a huge problem with men but, since we have men (my fathers friends) coming up to the house a lot he has gotten use to them. So are a handful of other breeds and mixed breeds. The growl most people usually think of is the aggressive growl that is used as a warning sign. 2. Hey, it's me again. My bull hasn't done it but some of the other cows or steers have when they are startled. Whether the dog directs it at one person or many, it’s something that needs addressing because it won’t get better on its own.
